Life with Koda: Cont'd

[Kadzait]

Still writhing on the ground in my spasm of laughter, Nertuark asks if I'm jealous, and if I want to be his brother. I slow my laughter, my sides aching. I'm still chuckling as I get up, looking down at little Nertuark.

"If it would please you, I'd be happy to be your brother!" I grin. He smiles and runs off after Koda and Ken'ichi. I turn to Sila and Talist.

"You aren't the only ones who can aquire a sibling in a split second!" I joke with them, a sly smile on my muzzle.


OOC: Yo wolfies! Nikiski mentioned in a message to me that we have enough wolves for a pack. Should we start our own pack, since all of ours don't have a place for us?

[Nikiski]

I hear Nertuark asks Kadzait to be his brother, I laugh at Kadzait's expression and answer.

"Hahaha!"

Then Ken'ichi suggests that he will go exploring with Koda and Nertuark. I smile and say.

"I'm coming along too, OK?"

Well, I look at Ken'ichi, just to make sure that he won't get into trouble again... I cannot afford to lose anyone...

[Ken'ichi]

I chuckle as Nertuark aggrees to my suggestion and begins to hop around me. I turn to Niki when he decides to come along with us, I nod and turn back to Nertuark who's still hopping around.

"Alright alright Nertuark, settle down." I point to the top of a waterfall, "We can climb up there and get a good view of the salmon run, think you're up for it?" I see Nertuark nod, but I don't see Koda anywhere. "Uhh...Koda?" I turn to see Koda already heading up the waterfall, "Hey, wait up!" I cry as I race to catch up with him.

[Nikiski]

I watch them racing up to the waterfall, I am just trailing behind to make sure that they are alright. Koda gets there first as he got a headstart, and that wolf pup can run fast!

"Hey Nertuark, you run pretty fast!"

I walk to the waterfall and start my climb to the top.

When I get to the top... where are they? I look around, seeing no sign of them... wait... did they fall?

[Chasca]

OOC: Sounds like a neat idea to me!

BIC:

I roll my eyes and sigh, rather dramatically by the way, as Kadzait continues laughing. Gah...how...extremely humiliating. I snicker when Nertuark offers for Kadzait to be his brother...until Kadzait doesn't seem phazed about it. No fair...I wanted my revenge!

At Kadzait's next remark, I grumble, "Yeah, but you like it." I scowl at the ground, and notice that Ken'ichi, Koda, and Nertuark are racing towards the waterfall. I look back at the ground, still scowling, and sarcastically remark, "Aww, how touching,"

[Kadzait]

I smirk at Sila, who seems a bit downtrodden. I look down, a bit ashamed I made her embarrased what with all my silly laughing. I nudge her with my paw.

"Aw, sorry," I say, a bit awkwardly, scratching at my paw, "I shouldn't've laughed." I say, my ears pressed back in humble apology. I watch as the three young ones run up to the top of the waterfall.

[Chasca]

I'm surprised that Kadzait apologized to me. He didn't have to...though it was rather irritating, I would have gotten over it. Even so, I accept his apology. "Don't worry about it," I reply casually, glancing back up. Maybe they'll fall.

Wait...where are they? I notice Nikiski is looking around for them. "Hm...weird..." I say, even though it doesn't really bother me.

[Ken'ichi]

"Told you guys there's a lot to explore in this place." I say with a grin.

Apparently this waterfall has more secrets than me. I remember discovering this place with my brother in one of our explorations, a hidden cave just beyond the waterfall which was on our route up the cliff, hidden by a bush. Koda and Nertuark followed me in, but I doubt Niki saw us and got lost. Besides, the hole is too small for Niki to fit through.

"C'mon, the best is just ahead." I say as I pad deeper into the cave.

It takes a little bit of walking down a hill, and jumping across a small gap, but at the end, a beautiful underground waterfall with glittering crystals at the bottom. I hear Koda and Nertuark gasping in awe and commenting about the view.

"This place haven't changed a bit." A drop fall on my nose, I look up to see some stalagtiges(However you spell it) "Oh yea, I forgot about those."

I take one good look at the sight then turn around, "Let's go, before Niki gets a heart attack." I chuckle and head back to the surface along with the others.

OOC: *Whistles* Hey Koda, we need you here. ;D

[Kadzait]

OOC: Man, Chasca, you're posts make me laugh out loud!! I love your character!! I was laughing when you suddenly changed from the apology to 'maybe they'll fall!' So good!

BIC: Sila accepts my apology, stating not to worry about it. She glances back up at the top of the waterfall, and do I detect a smirk? I wonder what she could be thinking. I follow her gaze, and don't see the kids at all, and I wonder if they had gotten themselves lost. I shrugged. Nikiski was with 'em, if he needed help, he could holler. I lay down on the cool grass and stretch my body out.

OOC: so, with the pack thing, should I just randomly state it? like, "hey, we should be a pack!" or what?

[Chasca]

OOC: Thank you! That really is a big compliment to me...thank you for taking the time to say that, really.

BIC:

I glance down at Kadzait, who has decided to lay down, and return to looking up, thinking. That Nertuark pup is rather eager to have siblings, which despite it being annoying, is quite understandable. To be alone at such a young age...if it weren't for us agreeing to be his 'siblings' his self esteem could really go down.

"Huh...poor kid. Doesn't have a pack..." I muse aloud, as a weak attempt for conversation.

OOC: Yeah...that'd work! I tried helping it along up there.

[Kadzait]

OOC: Ooh, thanks! That'll help! Here we goes!

BIC:As I lay on the grass, letting it's coolness seep through my fur, Sila tries to start a conversation, stating it was quite sad that Nertuark didn't have a pack. I lay there for a minute, thinking....well, none of us have a pack...really. Hmmm... Ding!

I jump to my paws excitedly.

"Hey, why don't we start our own pack?" I ask, full of enthusiasm.

[Nertuark]

I follow Ken'ichi and Koda into a cave. It is beautiful unlike anything I've seen before... Spectacular landscape, beautiful underground waterfall... Nice place!

"Wow..." I marvelled at the beauty of this place.

Then Ken'ichi suggests that we should get back out before we get into trouble. And so did we. When we reached the top of the waterfall, Nikiski is there, probably looking for us... He sees us, runs over and starts scolding at Ken'ichi... I feel bad for him...

[Nikiski]

I don't know where to find the kids... when suddently I see them behind me...

"Ken'ichi, where have you been?!! I've been looking all over for you!!"

I continue...

"I can't believe you! I can't take my eyes off of you for a second without you dissapearing!! What's wrong with you?!!"

"I'm sorry, I was just showing my fri-"

I cut him off...

"First you dissapear early in the morning and I end up searching for you for hours! Then you disobey me and come out of the bush and get captured by humans!!"

"Hey, I saved you by tackling that hunt-"

Anger is rushing through my body...

"I thought I lost you back there at the human village when you weren't moving when I found you on the ground! Now you dissapeared and I thought you fell off the cliff! Don't you ever stay out of trouble?!!"

Without a pause I continue...

"Geez, I never thought having a little brother would be such a pain! Especially with you!"

I say something that I wasn't thinking of saying...

"You're the biggest pain in the neck I've ever met!! Of all the little brothers I could've have, I ended up with you!! I don't know what to think of you anymore! You're just...just..."

Somehow I manage to stop when I see Ken'ichi running off into the woods... I shouldn't have done that... What did I just do? It's like saying "I don't want you to be my brother!" I feel sorrow in my heart, and am regreting about what I've done... I walk back and forth, and I look at the crystal that my brother gave me... I sigh, with a hint of tears in my eyes...

"Koda and Nertuark... stay here for one sec..."

I walk into the forest, trying to find Ken'ichi... I'm sorry... Ken'ichi... I'm so sorry... I'm... so... sorry...

"Ken'ichi!"

No reply.

"Ken'ichi!"

My voice lowers...

[Chasca]

I jump back at Kadzait's sudden exclamation, but then I'm able to register exactly what he said. But we don't have enough wolves...hmm...wait a minute...yeah we do! Suddenly excitement feels my body, and I can't help but to jump eagerly around him like some hyperactive pup.

Bleck...stupid bloodrush. "Do you know what this means if we are to?! I mean, then no one can single us out and there'll be no disgrace or or or...anything!" I say excitedly. Oh...wait. That's SO out of character for me. I manage to calm down, and say, "I mean, that's a great idea. And we could do that."

I notice that Nertuark's back at the waterfall...which is good...because the whole pack idea might've been gone if he really had fallen.

[Ken'ichi]

We walk back to the exit of the cave, jumping over the small gap and walking up the steep hill. When we reach outside, I see Niki running toward me.

"Ken'ichi, where have you been?!! I've been looking all over for you!!"

Ok, I wasn't expecting a scold.

"I can't believe you! I can't take my eyes off of you for a second without you dissapearing!! What's wrong with you?!!"

I expected least a scolding string, "I'm sorry, I was just showing my fri-"

He cuts me off, "First you dissapear early in the morning and I end up searching for you for hours! Then you disobey me and come out of the bush and get captured by humans!!"

I stay quiet and look at Niki glaring at me, he's very angry with me. And yea, I do get into a lot of trouble, but...

"Geez, I never thought having a little brother would be such a pain! Especially with you!"

What? Does he mean...

"You're the biggest pain in the neck I've ever met!! Of all the little brothers I could've have, I ended up with you!!"

My eyes widen and I gasp, I suddenly felt my heart break in half, my bond as a brother to Niki being broken. I take a few steps back as sadness and pain fills me.

But Niki continues his scoldings, "I don't know what to think of you anymore! You're just...just..."

I can't continue hearing this, I turn around and run off into the forest in pure agony as tears starts falling down my face. Niki sounded like if he doesn't want to be my brother anymore, he's sick of me! Without stopping for anything, I continue running deeper into the forest. And as I ran, I felt the crystal around my neck loosen up and falls off my neck, but I don't care about that, not anymore. It might be a gift from my brother, but it ties me with Niki as brothers, and I feel that bond is broken now...
