Life with Koda: Cont'd

[Ken'ichi]

After telling Niki my story, he tells his part of my idea of taking on the human village who took the lives of my loved ones. Niki tells some pretty good reasons for letting the humans go, but I still have an upmost anger to kill them. But in the end, when Niki tells me to fight defensively rather than for revenge, I sigh...

"Ok, you win." I sit down besides Niki, my back resting on his back, "I just wish the world wasn't this torn up..."

[Spectrum]

OOC: Everyone, we have a plan for this tomarrow. We plan to have me return and help out against yet another fight with hunters and such, so...just wait, I suppose? Is this alright? If not, then I dunno...I'll see you all tomarrow, 5-6 or earlier pm. And I don't know about others' times....like...Kanoa, right? You said you live somewhere where it's night here and morning there and vice-a-versa in USA? Anyway...g'night to those of us who stay up too late...like me...@_@

[Nikiski]

I hear Ken'ichi say, "I just wish the world wasn't this torn up..."

"Well, you still have a brother, and your friends!"

Ken'ichi chuckles and he rubs his back against my body. I smile and give him a pat.

"Have I shown you this?"

I point at a piece of dry clay. Ken'ichi shakes his head.

"Well, this is what my brother made me when I was four. See that? The smaller paw print belongs to me and the bigger one my brother's. He must have done this when I was asleep..."

I look at Ken'ichi as he looks at me.

"Well one day I'm gonna make one for you and me."

Ken'ichi smiles. I let him lean against my body.

OOC~ Okies, I'll let Nertuark go grab some hunters for ya in a bit

[Truttle]

OOC: Sorry for being M.I.A. for a while. I been a little pre-occupied recently.

BIC: On another search for my brother, I grumble under my breath. "Can't he just sit still?

He's always running off." I continue searching but can't find any trace of him any where.

"This is hopeless. I won't find him this way. I'd better ask my friends if they've seen him. Nikiski den is the closest one nearby. I ask him if he's seen him."

I turn to head back when suddenly I hear someones voice.

"What the- Who's that?"

It was Spectrue's voice but I looked around and didn't see anyone. Spectrue is apparently speaking to Ken'ichi. He talked about coming back with Diamond, but then his voice was interupted and then lost.

"I suppose Spectrue is coming back. I'd like for him to meet my brother. That is if I can find him. I'd better hurry back."

As I continue going, I noticed that the skies were cloudy and were starting to rain. Before long the rain really started coming down hard. I was walking beside the bottom of steep mountain side cliff. The wind and rain had begun to pick up. Shielding my eyes from the stinging rain, I suddenly heard a rumble from above. The winds and rain had knock loose some rocks and boulders causing a rockslide right above me. With rocks falling all around me, I run as best as I could trying to avoid the falling rocks but trip on the debree. I turn over to see a boulder falling right towards me. I quickly try to crawl out of the way but I couldn't move fast enough. The boulder lands right on the bottom calf of my leg, completely breaking the bone.

"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!

I grab my leg, wincing from pain, dismalled at the condition of my leg. The rock slide for the most part had ended but I didn't know what to do.

"Wait! Nikiski! His crystal! It has the power to heal. If I can make it to him, then he can help me!"

I used all my will power to endure the pain and get up to try to make it back to the salmon run and find Nikiski. I had to limp on three legs but I made it there. Now all I had to do was find Nikiski. I headed towards his den.

[Nikiski]

"Nikiski!"

Someone calls me from outside... with a hint of pain in the tone... I get up, walk towards the entrance of the cave... I see Truttle limping on three legs!

"What the-?"

Apparently Truttle hurt himself pretty bad... Without a second thought I rush over with my crystal... With no surprise his leg is healed.

"What are you doing in the rain? Come, dry yourself."

I invite Truttle to come in and dry himself off. I shake my fur dry.

"Help yourself to feel comfortable."

I pad over to the deeper part of the cave, to where Ken'ichi is lying. I put my arm around him.

[Truttle]

I made it to Nikiski's den and I called out for him with a tone of pain. He heals my leg and invites me inside. I lay down and barely manage to utter a "Thank you, Nikiski..." before passing out from the pain and loss of blood.

[Nertuark]

I'm getting a little bored after we get to Nikiski's den. I mean, it is cool and stuff, but I can't see myself sitting here until it stops raining...

So, I scoop outside when Nikiski is outside... I love the rain! It is fun to jump into the puddles of water.

After getting myself all wet, I decide that it is time for me to go back... but I hear something coming behind me... at a high speed...

I turn around to see a pack of humans coming at me... aah! What am I doing!?

"Someone! Help me, aah!"

OOC~ Hopefully this will work as planned...

[Ken'ichi]

"Well, you still have a brother, and your friends!"

I chuckle at Niki's remark, so true. I rubs my back against his body to make myself comfortable, then Niki pats me.

"Have I shown you this?" Niki asks.

I look at Niki to see him pointing to a piece of dry clay, I look at it and shake my head.

I smile and lean back against his body, "Thanks Niki, I'm looking forward to it."

Suddenly, I hear a voice calling for Niki. I sit up and watch as Niki goes to investigate who that was. I see Truttle limping on three legs, the bottom calf of his leg broken I guess. But thanks to Niki's crystal, Truttle's leg is healed. I sigh in relief and lie back down as I see Niki and Truttle coming back in from the rain, shakig their furs dry. I close my eyes and give a big sigh as the rain's effect on me comes back to haunt me, but I find quick relief when I feel Niki placing his arm around me. Though the rain's effect on me has it's upsides, it also remembers me of things I never thought I remembered. I start humming to a song that my mother used to sing to me whenever I can't sleep, that always did the trick. Niki hears my hum and asks me about it.

"Hm, it used to be a song my mother used to sing to me to get me to sleep...I don't remember the lyrics, but I do know the rythim and tune."

Before Niki could probably ask something else, my ears perk up when I hear Nertuark crying for help. I quickly stand up and look around for him, but I only see Koda, oh geez. I run outside into the rain to find him, along with Niki and Sila.

[Nikiski]

Ken'ichi starts humming a song and I ask Ken'ichi about it.

"Ken'ichi, what's this song? That's a nice tune!"

"Hm, it used to be a song my mother used to sing to me to get me to sleep...I don't remember the lyrics, but I do know the rythim and tune."

I think about Ken'ichi's family, then mine... how both of us used to have a family... oh good old times...

Before I can ask Ken'ichi anymore questions, I hear Nertuark shouting for help. I look around, and I cannot find Nertuark anywhere in the cave.

"Ah great." I whisper to myself.

I turn to Sila and Ken'ichi.

"Oh come on, let's go get him."

The three of us run outside and search for Nertuark.

[Spectrum]

After Diamond had dragged be through bushes, trees, ice, snow, building ruins, and other things, we finally stopped at the base of the mountain of which I first came to this forest.

"Jeeze, Diamond?! Why can't you wait for a little bit?"
"Hey, we made it here pretty fast, didn't we?"
"Well..."
"Besides, it seems as though that we might need to find the others quicker than we can, otherwise it will start to-"

Before she could finish, she was cut off by a drop of water. Then another 2 drops hit simuntaniously on the nose.

"rain..." I finished.

She winced when the drops hit her a couple more times, then a whole sheet of rain was upon us, drenching our clothes and fur.

"Hurry, let's find some shelter!"

We ran as fast as we could through the waves or storming rain, flooding every small hole in our path, making puddles everywhere. We jumped from puddle to puddle, trying to make it through the barrages of drops. Suddenly, I heard a faint, panicy voice. Who was that? It sounded like a kid..?

"Did you hear that?" I asked Diamond.

"Yea! I think someone is in trouble!"

She looked at me with worried eyes.

"But there's a small cave right there..." I pointed over to a very vacant cave(OOC: not your cave, not yet) (BiC: ) where we could stay out of the rain. But she growled at me and glared.

"Oh....Oh alright, fine, let's go help them." I was worried we might be hit by lightning, or falling trees, since how the storm was getting really bad. Another yelp of help came from that someone, this time louder. It sounded more like a young barking. Maybe it was a pup? I didn't know what to think, so we just moved faster, ever so closer to the river area and mountain like zone Ken'ichi had told me of. I hoped they were alright...

[Kadzait]

OOC:Hmmm... I don't know if I should get involved in this fight, since I'm heading of for camp and I'm going to have Kadzait leave again. I've headed off to find Talist, dunno if Sila came with me? I might just have my character run off when he hears.....certain news which I will relate to you upon my return! So Kadzait might not get to say goodbye to everyone. Maybe just Sila or Talist, dunno, cause I don't know where I am at the moment.......*looks around....* (imitating Stitch) I'm lost! lost! hehe! okay, nevermind! I'll write my farewell for a week right now. I will be here the rest of today, so if something else is posted by Sila or Talist that is different from what I write, then I will fix it, but my character will be officially gone for five days. Okay, here we goes!

BIC: Sila and I pad off in search of Talist, whom we had left behind since the fight with the hunters. Upon reaching the clearing, I feel a drop of rain on my head. I grin widely. I loved the rain. As more drops began to fall, I breathed in deeply, enjoying this wonderful sensation of the rain. I look over to see Talist, and I grin.

"Well, there you are!" I say, the rain beginning to pour down in sheets. It starts to soak in my fur, and my grin grows wider. Nothing could ruin this day!

"Caw! Caw!" I turned abruptly to see the crow who had brought news earlier of my former pack. The worried look in his eyes told me that I shouldn't have been so sure this day wouldn't be ruined. He was having a bit of trouble steering through the rain, and he collided into my shoulder, but managed to prop himself up on it. I turned to Talist and Sila.

"Uh....excuse me for a moment.." I say, sweeping off to the side to hear the crow's tale. Once again, as before when he talked to me, a pit grew in my stomach. I had to leave again. Not now, not when everything was so perfect, we were about to start a pack! I sigh, knowing I have to go do what I have to do. The crow, Wroc was his name, tells me he will come with me. I thank him, and pad soggily back over to my two friends.

"Talist, Sila, I have to leave....again." I pause. "I can't talk now, but I will tell you all upon my return." I pause again, my side starting to ache. If I return. Ah, no use going about it with a negative attitude. I would return. And I would have a pack to return to. I turn to Talist.

"And do think about the pack idea." I smile. Wroc crows again, and I know it's urgent. "But I will come back." I say with confidence. Looking at my two friends, it's hard to break away and head off, but with a smile and a firm nod, I race off into the stormy day, the rain pelting me. I don't mind. It might come in handy.

[Ken'ichi]

OOC: Hey fun Kadzait, I'll roleplay as Koda till you get back

Niki, Sila and I rush under the rain to find Nertuark, but it was him who found us, He runs and hides behind Sila. I look forward to see hunters coming at us, five hunters. Whoa, they're huge, this isn't going to be easy. They charge to attack us, Sila and Niki go in to fight them, now I'm starting to get second thoughts about fighting these guys. Sila is fighting with two of them, but Niki's got his luck cut out for him by fighting three hunters at the same time. The rain is still pouring down, my fur getting soaked as I watch this showdown, why am I standing here and let my brother fight a close fight? I gotta help him. My eyes widen when the hunters manages to hurt Niki, he roars in pain, and with the help of the rain it triggers horrifid thoughts and memories in my mind.

In my mind, I see my brother Kamali dying a horrid death, one spear on his side and another spear in his chest. I see my father's death, spear right into his heart. I close my eyes and grit my teeth, I feel the darkness inside of me growing, I growl in anger as my claws tenses, the fur on my head goes down because of the rain, nearly covering my eyes. I roar, but it doesn't sound as treathening as an adult's roar.

As soon as I stopped roaring I charged and tackle a hunter, relieving Niki of one hunter. As the hunter I tackled lies on the ground, I claw away on one of the hunter's arm, but he grabs me and throws me off. I bounce and slide on the ground, but I quickly get up, fire raging in my eyes. The hunter gets up and points at me with his spear, but without thinking I charge at the human. He tries to take me down with his spear, but I'm too fast for him, can't even land a scratch. I jump at him, but he thinks he can block me with his arm, but I bit his arm and don't let go. He swings his arm like mad and I go flying off of him. I land hard on the ground and slide a little, I get up with a small cut on my cheek from sliding on the ground, these guys are pretty strong. I get up, glare at the hunter and charge again to continue my attacks.

[Spectrum]

OOC: ..."disagreeault"?? I think the boards are going haywire again...

[Nikiski]

OOC~ See ya whenever you're back then, have fun, Kadzait!

BIC~

Nertuark finds us and he hides behind Sila. Sila tells her to go to my den and hide. Five hunters... big and strong... not too good... I see Sila fighting against two, and I find myself fighting three.

I still believe that I need to fight defensively, so I haven't made any aggreesive moves. I take a peek to see Ken'ichi, but a hunter manages to take this oppurtunity and stab his spear into my back.

"Rrraaarrr!"

Another hunter tries to poke my neck with his spear. He misses but my necklace is broken and it drops before I know it. The hunters keep poking and I keep fighting with the spear in my back. Ken'ichi roars and joins the fight. Ken'ichi tackles a hunter, relieving me of one hunter. I keep fighting the two, dodging their spears and I try my best to grab their spears. Ken'ichi is still fighting the hunter, but he gets thrown by the hunter and landed a few cuts on his cheek.

The two hunters I'm fighting with now keeps me busy. I'm unaware of that one hunter Ken'ichi's is fighting is pushing forward and pins Ken'ichi to a cliff...

[Ken'ichi]

I manage to wound one of the hunter's arm, but he only needs one arm to use the spear, I was going to have his arms useless so he won't be a treath, but I planned wrong. The hunter continues walking toward me, I back away but my room is limited as I look back and see a cliff behind me. The hunter goes to thrust his spear at me, but a roar gets his attention and he turns around. I see Niki tackling him and the hunter falls on the ground in front of me, his face meeting mine. Niki tells me to take this chance and get away from the cliff, but I wasn't thinking, I stand up on my hind legs, planning to send my claws down on the hunter's face, taking the life of a race that took my family away.

But I see something coming toward me, I look at it, it was a blur. Next thing I know pain surges through my body from my chest, I almost fall back. I slowly look down to see a stick sticking out from my chest, too small for a spear. I can't talk, can't blink, can't move, but I can think. My anger has blinded me and forced me to kill, the result...this...I have disobeyed Niki's say about revenge...it's my down fall...

"Ni...ki..." I mutter with my final strength.

My strength fails me and I fall back, down the cliff I wanted to avoid. And as I fall, I think...I'm sorry Niki...I'm so sorry you have to suffer another loss...it's all my fault...I disobeyed and fought for revenge...I'm sorry...

My body hits against the rocks on the edge of the cliff like a rag doll, pain dominating me. I finally hit the below ground, which will be my grave. I do not know what wounds I have developed from that fall, but the arrow sticking out from my chest has broken, making it smaller and harder to get out. I...I can't blink...I can't even close my eyes...I feel so cold...Spectrue...I'm sorry you'll find me dead when you return...I wanted to see you again so much...I'm sorry...

Goodbye Niki...good...by...e...

OOC: Ok, to describe a little how I landed below, I'm lying on my back, so you can see my chest and where the arrow struck me, it missed my heart so it's not an instant death. I couldn't close my eyes so I'm lying there with open eyes and half-opened mouth, my eyes staring lifeless at nothing. The fall down the cliff did wounded me even further, so my fur is going to be stained with blood. Alright guys, I'm unconscious and near death down there, my life is in your hands now, my death or survival depends on you all!
