Life with Koda

[Nikiski]

OOC~ I'll just keep going for now.

Listening to Spectrue's extremely detailed explaination, and he mentioned that he wanted to save half of the story for the Salmon Run. I grinned, and shook my head as he asked if we had any questions.

"No, not for now."

I looked at other bears. They too didn't seem to have too many questions.

"Let's go then, shall we?"

[Spectrum]

OOC: Your such a trooper, Koda! Taking on two identies, great! ;D(can't believe I called you trooper )

BiC:Looking back at the others, I saw Kenai with Koda. I'm glad he was up. I wanted to talk to him some time later. After I put my prism back in my maine carefully, hidden under my fur, I walked up to Niki.

"Sure, let's go. Are you all read-"

GROUWWLWLWL...umble....

"ek..?"

I looked at my stomach and squinted...Great, I thought. I'm hungry again...

"Uh, look, I hadn't any breakfast or anything, so...uh..I'm gunna try to go get me a fish or two before we go..."

I walked away from the bears to the river and watched closely at the fish. I'd seen the other bears just swipe a fish in there paw and just ate it.

"Well...here goes..."

I closed my eyes and swiped at the water, and I felt something on my paw, wriggling. It was a fish! I pulled my paw out and saw a rather large fish. I held onto it with two han- I mean paws, and it stopped wiggling. I smiled and turned around.

"I guess I only need one, huh? I finally got one!" I grinned, and tore into the fish, and ate until I filled myself up.

"Haa....That was good. Heh. I'm glad I watched you guys fish a little more..."

I stood back and looked at the trees, then I went ahead and walked with the others.

"I'm ready now. Let's go."

[Ken'ichi]

I listened to Spectrue's story with great interest, his explanation of his prism has really caught my attention. The way he explained the prism made it seemed...magical. I had so many questions to ask him about the prism, but he told us he'll explain more later, so I decided not to ask the questions till I hear the whole thing. After Spectrue's story, they decided to continue their way to the salmon run, but Spectrue got hungry and went to the river, he caught a fish and happily cried to us he caught a fish. I chuckled, maybe he had trouble catching fish before I met him.

After he ate his fish, he walked toward us and said he was ready and we started our walk to the salmon run. As we were walking, I started thinking about Spectrue's story, and wondering what's going to be in stored for me when I reach the salmon run with Spectrue, Niki, Truttle, Koda and Kenai.

[Nikiski]

We were ready to go, until we heard Spectrue's stomach made a noise. He looked at his stomach and said that he needed something too eat before we go.

"Ya, sure."

Looking at Spectrue trying to catch some fish.

"Try to go to where the water is shallow. That's where most fish will be early in the morning."

I saw Spectrue put his paw in the water, and, when he pulled his paw out, there was a fish! I was very impressed.

"Yah, you caught a fish! It wasn't that hard after all, huh?"

I watched Spectrue ate up that fish.

"Well, glad you watched! Hehe."

Looking at the blue skies ahead, I felt like it was going to be a good day. This -- of course -- changed until we encountered some other creatures.

I gave a smile.

"All right, let's go go go!"

All of us walked in the direction of the salmon run.

[Koda]

Kenai was rather blunt about his totem, and I wished now that I hadn't mentioned the rock to Spectrue, it being the middle of the night I had been tired and also careless. Hopefully nothing would come of it. Specture was succesful in catching a fish, and I was right proud of him. We all started on our way to the salmon run, and I grinned up at Kenai.

[Koda]

OOC: No prob, Spectrum, actually, I think it'll be fun to be Kenai too! *grins!* Anyhow, here I go again as Kenai!

BIC: The bears decide it's time to head to the salmon run, so I heave myself up from my sitting position, still a bit groggy. After Spectrue catches a fish, we head off again, and Koda is happily jumping along beside me, and I can't help but grin at his happiness.

[Ken'ichi]

I looked how Koda grinned at Kenai, I couldn't help but smile. Those two reminds me so much of me with my father, those days when me and my father used to play together, the days when he used to teach me how to fish and survive when it was time for me to go it alone. I stopped walking as I remembered those days, I used to thought those days would never end, but...

"But you did, didn't you..." I said to no one as tears started rolling down my cheek. "Just when everything was going great you're gone..."

I heard Niki asking me what's wrong, I just bowed my head and closed my eyes, trying to hide the fact that I'm crying, then I felt Niki giving me a little nudge. I still tried to suck up my tears, but more painful memories keep popping up in my head. Next thing I heard was Niki daring Koda to climb a tree.

[Nikiski]

I looked at Ken'ichi, he just didn't look... hm... something's bugging him I thought. I'd better leave him alone for now... or...

"What's wrong, Ken'ichi?"

I walked over, gave him a little nudge. I thought I should come up with something to... ug... make him feel better...

"Wow, look at that tree. That must be the tallest tree I've seen."

I thought to myself, I'd better do something to make everybody happy. I looked at Koda, gave him a look.

"Hey Koda, you always tell me how good you are at climbing trees. You think you can climb that one?"

[Koda]

I hear Ken'ichi padding along beside us, and then he starts to fall behind. He looks a little sad, and Nikiski tries to cheer him up. I hope Ken'ichi's all right, but before I can go ask him, Nikiski asks if I can climb the tree he has deemd the tallest. A wry grin comes to my face at Nikiski's question, and I nod my head assuredly.

"Of course, I mean, I've climbed trees even bigger'n that before, so this'll be a cinch!" Crouching down low, I ready myself for the assent, and then 'boom'! I'm off, scampering up the tree quite like a squirrel. I reach the first branch, quite a way up, and spin around it, looking at the bears below who have grown quite small.

"Hey, you guys!" I call with a laugh, "You look like squirrels down there!" I laugh and climb a little higher, passing a birds nest on the way, the mother bird chirping madly at me.

[Spectrum]

OOC: XD to the bird chirping madly, lol. Also, hope noone minds a show off

BiC: We walked all in the same direction, supposevely to the salmon run. I thought long and hard about how I'd been going along with my friends on our journeys. I remember Techni always bashing me for going a little too hard, living on the edge, I reminded myself of how Diamond and I always used to play together in the snow, way out in the artic regions, how Space would never make a grin when I wanted him to so badly, but he just all of the sudden smirked out of the blue. Those were good times. And then I remember the bad. The dreams. Those dreams I had of...of my family, my friends...All gone, slayed upon from an evil man...I could no longer have any respect for many humans, except for my own loved ones in those nightmares... I would not forget the blood upon by bed, of where I slept, I will not forget the figure that hung from that dead tree by the neck. I will never forget all the pain I must of suffered, as I saw them in my dreams. I was never one to be supersticous, but those dreams...I believed them, fully and truely, and that's why I exist, that's why I must keep going, along with the path my family tried to pave, little by little, my dear, sweet sister Prismay, even...

I awoke from my trance and heard Niki ask Ken'ichi what was tha matter. I glanced over and saw sparkles of water, falling from his dark, shadowed face, it looked as though he was trying to hide it all away. I looked at my nose and felt a tear roll down it as well. I felt it fall on the ground, and without hesitation, I pulled my face into the air and sneezed. That would get rid of any excess tears...

"Excuse me..."

I kept watching Ken'ichi. He seemed aburdened by his own thoughts. I decided against asking if he was alright, cuz Niki alright asked the same thing, then the next thing I hear is Koda agreeing to the challenge of climbing a tree that Niki procaims to be very tall. I watched him scurry all the way up, and I watched him...Heh...This might be a good time to...

"Hey, that's pretty good, Koda! But let's see how well I do..."

I looked upon the structure of the tree, studied it for a moment. I knew I could climb this tree, I'd flown before. A moment not too soon, I dashed back to the far end of the path, turned around and dashed right at the tree, with extreme speed, flying up the crown of it, and hoping from one branch to the other.

"Phew..." I found myself right beside Koda, and I saw him gawk at me. I heard the gasps of the others. Oh, geeze, what did I do? I forgot that if they found out my abnormalties of being a bear, they'd find me to be strange for sure. I pondered on a good explanation of how well I'd just climbed up there... I just grinned at Koda and said

"Not too bad, huh?" I listened to him as he asked me how I did that. I laughed

"Well...You see, I'd been trained long and hard by my mother, belive it or not. My dad taught me how to fly-hop like that also. Everyone called them the tree-piezeist furs. Though I don't know why, heh..."

I sat on the farther branch and then I felt myself getting heavier on the branch.

"As you can see, I'm much smaller than usual bears around here. My parents were pretty small too. They weren't known for their size, they were known for their skill, their body structure. It makes me feel good that I inherited some of their traits...."

I smiled toward the others, hoping they'd heard me. Finally, I hopped down from one branch to the next, then fell the long way down, flat on 2 feet, then slammed on to my fourpaws.

"Uh...I promise I won't show off like that again...heh..sorry."

I scratched my neck and listened to what the others had to say.

"Well, let's get back on the trail!" We started foward once again, Koda flying off the tree faster than he'd gone up.

[Nikiski]

OOC~ Oh sure, I don't mind

BIC~

"Wow Koda, that's really impressive!"

All of us applaused. The next thing I knew, though, was Spectrue ran to the top of a slope, then down towards the tree...

"Watch out, Spectrue..."

I thought he might had run into the tree, but I was wrong. He hopped up one branch after another, and finally he was right beside Koda. I was very supprised at what Spectrue did. I had my mouth wide open not able to say a word.

I listened to Spectrue's explanation, and I was amazed.

Still had my mouth opened, I watched Spectrue hopped down the tree like the way he hopped up. Koda climbed down from the tree too. I hoped that Ken'ichi felt a little better now. Spectrue suggested that we should keep going. I nodded.

I quickly caught up with Spectrue.

"Spectrue, I thought you were going to run into that tree!"

Spectrue grinned.

[Spectrum]

"Yea, well, I did that the first time I tried doing that with my parents! They laughed and laughed, until they saw the bump on my head, woo..."

I stopped talking and walked over to Ken'ichi.

"So, are you doing ok there, Ken'ichi?"

I looked at his solemn face as he looked upon me. I wondered if his problems traveling through the highways of his mind were still fixed on his nerves.

[Ken'ichi]

I kept remembering, the pain kept spreading, giving me more reasons to cry. But why now? Why of all times?

"Nothing...nothing's...wrong..." I answered Niki's question after about 10 seconds later.

Everyone was feeling sad and sorry for me, and yet they don't know a thing why I'm crying. I heard Koda's voice crying out to us on how we looked like squirrels from that height, After a while I heard Niki shouting at Spectrue to watch out for something. But I wouldn't budge. I tried sucking up my tears and trying to free my mind from the painful yet happy memories. I managed to calmn down, the tears went down my cheeks one final time as my eyes began to dry away the tears. The pain has eased for now, and the crying as stopped, but my face was still damp from the tears.

I heard Spectrue ask me if I was doing ok. I absently looked at him, my eyes still with the expression of pain and sadness.

"I'm alright..." I absently said, "I'm alright..."

[Nikiski]

Spectrue slowed down and asked if Ken'ichi was OK. Ken'ichi looked like he had cried.

"Ah, you sure? You don't look 'OK'..."

[Ken'ichi]

"I'm fine..." I sniffed, "Really..."

Aw who am I kidding? I just cried right in front of them, they know something is bothering me, they know I'm not fine.

"We...should get doing if we want to reach the-" I sniffed again, it seems as if I want to cry again, "salmon run before night fall."

I kept walking and ignored their questions or comments, this is something I need to beat alone. I'll come to them if I need their help, when I'm ready to share my story. I walked out of route into a very forested area, passed a few trees stopped behind a big oak tree. I couldn't keep it inside any longer, I started crying.
