Life with Koda

[Nikiski]

As we were walking down the trail I suddently noticed that I didn't see Ken'ichi within my sight anymore.

"Hey guys, have you seen Ken'ichi?"

Nobody had seen him. Thousand thuoghts went through my mind: Is he lost? Is he hurt? Where is he?...

"OK, I think we gotta go find him."

Something even worse was going to come...

Kenai yelled he smelt humans around. Great. Now we're in big trouble.

"I will go and find Ken'ichi, you guys go ahead, we'll meet you at the salmon run..."

I sniffed and found Ken'ichi's smell not far away. I ran towards where the smell was heading.

[Truttle]

OOC: I'm only gone for little while and I miss a whole page!

BIC: After Spectrue's announcement, we set off to continue with our journey. As were traveling, It seems that Kenichi is upset about something, he was crying. Nikiski asks him whats wrong but he proclaims that nothing is wrong. Nikiski attempts to cheer him up by getting Koda to climb a tall tree. Spectrue then gets in on the fun. He runs off some distance, then he comes raceing towards the tree at full speed. I look away, expecting him to slam into the tree, But when I look back he had climbed to the same hight as Koda. I couldn't believe my eyes. When he comes down, he explains how his parents thought him how to climb trees. We were all amazed at how well he climed that tree that we applauded him. But Kenichi still seemed upset. We continued walking when Nikiski noticed that Kenichi was gone. To make matters worse, Kenai said he smelled humans around. Nikiski went back to find Kenichi. But I was getting nervous. What if the humans got Kenichi? What if they get them both? I didn't wan't anything to happen to my new friends. I had to help.

"I'm going to go after Nikiski. If he runs into the humans, he's going to need some help. Kenai, you and Spectrue have to protect Koda. Get as far away from the humans as possible. If we don't find each other later, then we'll have to meet at the salmon run. Hurry! I'll be alright!"

I raced after Nikiski, following his trail.

"I hope they're alright."

[Ken'ichi]

I never cried this much before, I've cried more than last time. It was as if I'm trying to drown myself in my own tears as I started to remember again that horrible day, the reason I got my scar, the reason I'm all alone in this world. I stopped crying when my nose picked up a scent, I sniffed again and gasped when I recognized the scent. Immediatly, flashbacks filled my head, I realized I smelled humans. I dried my eyes of my tears and looked around, things were rather quiet, I couldn't see anyone in sight. Then I heard Niki calling my name. Great, I want to be alone then these humans and Niki shows up. I climbed the tree next to me and hid myself in the tree's leave-filled branches, I looked around and saw a Human close by. Then I saw Niki heading toward this place, obviously looking for me.

I shifted my sights to the human, he's getting closer every second, and Niki still doesn't know he's there. Why am I hiding up here in the tree? I'm supposed to be down there with Niki, warning him there's a human close by. Why am I hiding? Am I afraid?

"What am I doing?" I asked myself.

[Nikiski]

I kept looking for Ken'ichi. Unaware of the human close by, I kept sniffing, trying to find where Ken'ichi was.

"Ken'ichi!"

The human came closer. I did not see him.

"Ken'ichi!"

Even closer...

"Ken'ichi!"

[Ken'ichi]

OOC: I was rushed when I was tyiping this, so I re-wrote it.

I looked at Niki looking for me, he doesn't notice the human is dangerously close. I hesitated, I kept shifting my sights to each other every second, flashbacks of that horrible day flooded my mind as I looked at Niki and the human, remembering everything that has happened, how it was played, how it ended, how I let them down. I didn't know what to do, but if I don't do something, I'm gonna lose Niki too. Without thinking, I jumped down the tree.

"Niki!" I cried as I jumped off the tree, my eyes still sparkled from the remaining tears on my face from crying. "Human behind the bush!"

As soon as I landed my heart practically froze when a spear missed Niki's paw just by a few inches. I looked back to see a hunter jumping out of the bushes, I almost screamed at the sight of him.

[Nikiski]

I heard Ken'ichi's voice.

"Ken'ichi."

He jumped of a tree, landed right in front of me. As he was flying down from the tree, he shouted that there's a human close by! I totally forgot about the human! Ah, now what should I do... There wasn't much time to think, as the human was within the range to throw the spear.

"Com'on, let's go!"

A spear came flying and hit the ground next to my paw. A close miss! I told Truttle,

"You go with Ken'ichi, I'll stay to give you time to escape."

I turned around, ran towards the human without looking back.

[Koda]

OOC: Oohchewama! This is gettin good!

BIC: I sat laughing at the top of the tree, but the next thing I knew, Spectrue had charged up the tree as well. I stood, gawking at the bear, amazed that he had done such a feat. Spectrue explained that he had been taught by his parents, but I was still amazed. he hopped down the tree, and I followed suit, and then noticed Ken'ichi was crying, not a lot, just a tear or two. I padded over to him, to try and give some comfort. Before I knew it, he had run off into the forest, and the other bears were looking for him. I pointed in the direction of the Forest, and Nikiski and Truttle ran in after him. Kenai stated he smelt humans, and my heart froze. I ran in after Nikiski and Truttle as well, we had to find Ken'ichi before the humans did. As I padded up behind Nikiski and Truttle, and they haven't yet seen me, Keni'chi shouted from the tree that the human was right behind Nikiski. Ken'ichi jumped from the tree and as he was running, I ran up beside him, Nikiski ordering Truttle to follow Ken'ichi.

"We gotta get outta here, Ken'ichi!" I holler.

[Koda]

OOC: as Kenai:

BIC: I rolled my eyes as Koda began to show off, running up the tree quicker than you could say 'salmon run.' Yet, I couldn't help but grin. Suddenly, Spectrue flew past us and up the tree as well, and my jaw dropped. Spectrue explained to the rest of us, and it made plenty of sense.....but a large bear climbing a tree? I shook it off, and both Spectrue and Koda came down, both going over to the new cub, Ken'ichi. After a few more moments, there were cries that Ken'ichi had run into the forest. And to make matters worse, I could smell that distinct scent.

"Everyone!" I yelled, "There's humans around!" I began to look for Koda, but to my horror, I found him missing as well. I figured he ran into the woods to find Ken'ichi, that's the kind of cub he was. But I wasn't about to lose my little brother a second time, and I went charging into the forest, and right up with Nikiski, who was shouting at Truttle to take Ken'ichi and leave. I saw the spear near his foot, and I looked to see where the human was.

"Where is he, Niki?" I asked nervously, "Where's Koda?" I could see the hunter coming into view, and I did the best thing I could, hoping to frighten him away, stood up and roared.

[Nikiski]

Realizing Koda had been following us, I shoulded to Koda,

"Koda! you need to take Ken'ichi with Truttle!"

Without looking in front of me, I didn't realize that the human was like 3 feet from where I was. He was holding a knife.

"Aarrrrrrrrrrgh!"

I roared, hoping that the human would go away, but he didn't. He started to attack. I ducked and his knife missed my head by a few inches...

Kenai came. I thought that's dangerous. He roared and asked where Koda was.

"He... went with Truttle and Ken'ichi..."

Still panting, I smelt more humans. Poorly out-numbered there was nothing I could do.

"Aah! More humans, let's go!"

I knocked down the tree that Koda and Spectrue climbed on, and bang it blocked the path. Hopefully it would stop them for a little while, I thought.

[Koda]

OOC: Kenai:

BIC: Frantic as more humas came out with knives, and weren't dissuaded by my threatening stance, I see Nikiski knock down the large tree. That should stop the hunters for a moment, and I was glad Nikiski was quick to act.

"Nikiski, let's get out of here, we've got to make sure everyone is safe." I was really worried about Koda, because if a hunter came near him, I know he would protect his friends, and I couldn't bear to have him hurt.

[Nikiski]

Kenai said we should go and make sure everyone was safe... I nodded and walked. Thinking about what just happened, I said to Kenai,

"Phew, that was a close one."

I did not understand why humans hate us. What's wrong with us bears!

[Koda]

I ran with Ken'ichi and Truttle all the way back to where the other bears were. they looked a bit nervous, and I noticed Kenai wasn't there.

"Where's Kenai?" I asked, feeling a bit nervous. We all heard a loud cracking/popping noise, and a ton of birds flew in the air as a tree was felled. I hoped my big brother and Nikiski were all right!

OOC: I probably won't be on the rest of today, so you can carry on without me! Just have us move along with 'yas or whatever!

[Spectrum]

OOC: OH CRAP!!!! WAIT UP GUYS, please lemme catch up!!! I slept in!!! I'll post again in a few, hold on! *breaks cold fingers typing*

[Spectrum]

Ken'ichi replied what I asked him, saying he was alright. I frowned and looked at his eyes. They were drying up tears. I didn't bother him any longer and continued to walk. Soon, Niki asked us if we saw Ken'ichi.

"I uh...I thought he was right behind us?"

Niki suggested we'd better find him. I nodded, but Kenai notioned us that humans were close. Oh...This can't be good, I thought. Niki said he'd go after Ken'ichi, and soon after Truttle went along too. He told me and Kenai to stay with Koda, but as soon as he left, we saw Koda gone too. I heard shouts from where they headed. Soon, everyone but me was in the forest looking for Ken'ichi and trying to get away from the hunters, I heard roars. I quickly ran to another nearby tree and glided to the top, looking for the others. I saw the humans below, the sloth of bears roaring and trying to get away from their weapons. Birds flocked from the sound of snaps, the tree me and Koda climbed had fallen.

"This isn't going to happen!" I yelled as I dropped to ground from the tree, right behind one of the hunters. I landed on two feet, hunched over. As I highered my stance, the hunter slowly turned facing me. With complete vigorocity, I roared in his mug, knocking him backwards agaist a rock. He got up quickly and ran away. The other hunters behind me and other bears were still willing to bring me down, as a spear swished past my arm and cut me tricep. I roared with pain and turned around towards them. Now they were in for it.

"YOU....YOU!!!"

I sped off toward the hunter and slashed him down with my paw, leaving him there entranced and dazed. Two other hunters were beside him, trying to stab me with their spears. I yelled toward the others.

"GO! NOW, GET OUT OF HERE, I'LL TAKE CARE OF THIS!"

I heard them question each other. With frustratrion, I roared.

"AWAY!!! GO!!"

I slashed another hunter in the arm for pay back. I felt the presence of the others leaving me. Good, I thought. But I still sensed someone else behind me. I turned around and saw Ken'ichi, still sitting their, trembling. The others were coaxing him from far away to come with them. As I stared at him, telling him with my eyes "you mustn't stay!", I was dumbfounded when the last two hunters came upon me, knocking me down to the ground. I had no idea what I was up against, I'd never faced hunters before. Finally, I threw one hunter to the ground, flat on his face. Soon enough, the remaining one lunged at me once again, trying to choke me with his spear, his feet against my back as I stumbled along on my two feet. I got an idea. I took my bodily hunter and body slammed my back on him, crushing him under my weight and into the crust of the earth. When I faced Kenai and the others, I gasped and sighed... But the looks on their faces weren't exasperation, they were horror, as I turned slowly to see a hunter I had not remembered, my eyes widened and I roared as he stanced his spear to go through me. I didn't know what I was going to do, I fell down on the ground, him ready to end me. But when I fell, my prism fell out of my fur and dangled in the spot he was aiming for, and when he struck, BLAM, he hit the prism. What was soon to follow was a scene like no other. The facets of my prism glowed sharply, the green aura returning to my vision, voices were heard in my head. I got a vision of my dead family, my parents in the living space, their lives ended. I got the vision of me sitting out, looking at the trees, feeling anger...Was it not nature's law that all life abided? Soon after the day dream, I found the great light purging through my crystal, knocking back the hunter, rikocheting his spear back out of his hands, and he fell over the side of a small cliff, falling down to the jagged rocks below...

I looked at my prism in awe, pondering about what just happened. I turned around the others facing me, with weird looks and expressions. They too, were trying to figure out what just happened. I faced where the hunter had gone. He'd fallen right near the sharp points of the rocks. He was lucky....I fell to the ground exhausted, my arm still bleeding a little. A gasp exhaled from my mouth and soon enough, tears entered my eyes once again...
