Life with Koda

[Ken'ichi]

We reached the river and Nikiski decided to be a little devil and jumped into the river, splashing water all over me, Spectrue and Kadzait. I looked at Kadzait and smiled, he kind of enjoyed that sudden splash of water on him. I also heard Koda laughing his head off, I'll get him later. After jumping into the water, Nikiski catches a lot of salmons and gives a salmon to each of us. I got mine and immediatly started eating, I was quite hungry. After I stopped eating to chew the salmon in my mouth, I noticed Spectrue haven't even touched his, then he walked away to 'check' something. I hope he's alright...

[Nikiski]

I peek my head above water, seeing Spectrue about to leave. He says he wants to "check" something out.

"Spectrue, just remember to come back for the party before sunset!"

I smiled at Spectrue, watching him as he leaves.

[Ken'ichi]

After I had my fill of salmon, I looked around, I saw a lot of bears, all of them fishing and playing, that's when I saw Koda, chasing after a salmon. I thought he might like to meet our new friend, and maybe play around.

"Hey Kadzait." I called him. "Follow me, I would like to introduce you a good friend of mine."

I padded toward Koda to introduce him to our new wolf friend.

"Hey Koda!"

[Nikiski]

Ken'ichi goes to find Koda. It looks like that he had slept enough. I pull myself out of the water, and start eating the fish I caught earlier on. Truttle come and sit beside me.

"So, Truttle, what do you think?"

I listen to Truttle's comments on the Salmon Run.

[Truttle]

After getting a full view of the salmon run I was satisfied enough to know that I was really going like it here.

"This place is great Nikiski! I wish I could've known about this sooner. I'll be glad find a place somewhere around here, so that I can come back often."

[Kadzait]

We start our way to the river, and Nikiski jumps in, sending a spray of refreshing water on us. I grin, even though I am all wet, I don't mind it a bit. Another bear, Truttle introduces himself, and I nod politely.

"Pleased to meet you, Truttle." I grin. Nikiski tosses me a fish, and I gratefully accept it, as Specrtrue goes off to check something. I gobble up my fish in a stylish manner (ripping out its bones then gulping it down.) Ken'ichi says that he would like me to meet his friend, and I follow him as he calls out his friends name.

[Koda]

I watch as Nikiski cannon balls the rest of the group, soaking them to the skin. Laughing my head off, I point out his joke to Kenai, who chuckles, mentioning how he was glad he was out of range. Then, I notice a different animal with them....a wolf. My eyes grow large as I look at him. I had never seen a wolf up close before, and I was mesmorized. Then, Ken'ichi and the wolf came over, Ken'ichi calling my name. I ran over to Ken'ichi.

"Wow!" I managed to say, as the wolf looked down at me with dripping fur and a grin.

[Nikiski]

"Yeah, Truttle. I remember the first time I came to this run when I was still a cub with my brother..."

I stare at nowhere, thinking about that time...

"We met this huge bear called Tug. He's a great pal! He taught me how to catch fish efficiently. I mean, he's a real pro!"

I point at the cliff where I fell off when I was young.

"When I was young, I used to play on that cliff a lot until one time I tripped over a rock and I fell. I rolled and went off the edge of that cliff."

I paused.

"Lucky that my brother saw me when I landed on his back. If he didn't see me, I would have been dead long ago."

[Spectrum]

Unheithing my self from the cool water from the river, I shook my fur and began walking up the mountainous like area, all around the salmon run and up the falls. It seemed a pretty long climb, but I felt energized. I kind of felt bad for leaving the others behind, though I needed to get out some more in this area. I just had to find out a few things. Before I knew it, though, I found myself walking into a large, muscular yet huge body, and when I looked up, I saw a humongus bear. I gasped, and fell backwards from looking at him. My eyes grew wide. I'd never SEEN a bear this big!

"Iii-ah..I..ah...Hi?"

OOC: I'm being Tug just for this section...

BiC: "Well, hey there. What's all the scootin back for, huh?"

"Uhh...um, no reason, heh!"

"Where you goin all the way up here?"

"Well, I um...You see, I'm trying to find this, uh...mountain that I"ve heard about.." I was curious of the whereabouts of the mountain, for I wanted to know what I might be against or for climbing...

"Well, well, buddy, here we have a sort of little party down a little ways. Going up here will only get you a small glimpse of the beauty of that mountain, plus we're gunna have some games and fun down there, so why don'tcha come down with us? We all watch as the lights touch the mountain, from a very good perspective and...?"

I couldn't wait any longer for this bear's description. I had been wasting my time walking up here alone when I could be down there havin fun with the others. I ran down as fast as I could, making way towards where I last spotted the others. I yelled back at bear,

"Thanks!"

"...Boy...the excitement must of got to him, hahaha...."

My stomache growled as I sped nearer and nearer to Kadzait and Niki. But I began to a little to fast, and as I tried to stop, I couldn't. I tried skidding off a distance, but my paws had no such luck, and I skidded right off the edge of a small cliff, splashing down into the water, making a huge tidal wave hit all who were close around, including that of Kenai.
I looked around in my surroundings. I was underwater. As I wondered if they were gunna ask if I was alright, I began devising a hideos plan. I stayed ducked down underwater, holding my breath. I heard the shouts of the others calling my name. I slowly drenched up from behind Koda, unseen by anyone, and then I tapped him on the back, he turned around and as he did, I put on my scariest face I could think of. (I thought of Space's evil face) When he fully faced me, I said

"Boo."

It scared the freakin crap out of the cub and stumbled over scooting away right into the others. I laughed hilariosly, and I hoped the others would take the joke. But when I arose from the water, laughing, I faced them and they had serious looks on their faces. I stopped laughing, and began to feel what they had been. They must of been worried..Even Kadzait looked a bit disappointed...I felt humiliation...

"Gee, I"m sorry guys...I didn't mean to scare you like that...I mean..I..Haa...Forgive me, I just wanted to have a bit of fun.."

I turned around facing the opposite direction...I held my head in shame and walked away...

[Ken'ichi]

I grinned as Koda looked at Kadzait in awe, obviously by the look on his face he haven't been near a wolf before.

"Koda, This is Kadzait." I introduced Koda to Kadzait. "Kadzait, this is my good friend Koda."

But before Koda and Kadzait could know each other better, something comes from behind and scares the life out of Koda and runs to us. The 'something' turned out to be Spectrue, and he was laughing his head off, I looked back to see the others looking at Spectrue seriosuly. I couldn't help but do the same, Spectrue seemed worried and sad when he walked away, and I was worried when he did. Either he's feeling better now or his idea of a joke.

[Koda]

I grin in awe as Ken'ichi introduces me to the wolf, Kadzait. I smile.

"Wow, it's nice to meet you Kadzait" I say, "I've never met a wolf before! Do wolves really howl to talk to each other? Can you eat a ton of fish? Do you like fish? Do you talk to the moon?"

I was so full of questions for Kadzait, that before I knew it, there was someone tapping on my shoulder and as I turned around a giant, wet snarling face roared at me, and I fell over backwards, stumbling into Kadzait, freaked out. After a moment I noticed it was Spectrue, trying to play a joke, but no one was laughing. My heart was slowly returning to its normal pulse, and I was shaking a bit from the sudden shock. Spectrue looked guilty then apologized, turned around and walked away.

[Kadzait]

I smile in greeting to the young cub Koda.

"It's wonderful to meet you, Koda." I say with a grin. Koda begins spouting off questions about wolves, and I am reminded of myself at his age, always curious to know things. But before I can even start to answer, a large shape comes up behind Koda and frightens him, and he topples over against my legs, and hurriedly put my paw around him protectively. Then we all realize the shape was Spectrue, playing a prank. I looked at everyone's faces, and I could tell they had been worried about Spectrue, and he was only playing a prank on them. I couldn't tell what to think, as Koda sat shivering behind my paw from the fright. Spectrue apologized and turned away.

"You all right, Koda?" I asked quietly. He nodded, still a little shakey.

[Ken'ichi]

Spectrue must've felt bad about his prank because of the look everyone gave him. I decided to try and make him feel better, since he tried to cheer me up once, I figured I owed him. I padded to Spectrue.

"You feeling ok?" I ask him. "I thought it was kind of funny, though I don't think it was a good idea to pull a prank after everyone was worried about you."

I saw a salmon swimming by and grabbed it. "Here, figured you might be hungry." I say as I gave the salmon to Spectrue, but noticed he was still sad.

"Cheer up, I'm sure Koda and the others aren't mad."

[Spectrum]

Sitting down on the bank, I faced down. Ken'ichi walked up to me and tried to cheer me up.

"Well, I"m glad you thought it was funny..." I said solemnly..

He snatched a salmon out of the water and offered it to me. With a saddened smile, I thanked him, and ate it slowly. He told me to cheer up, that the others wouldn't really be mad.

"Ha..I guess..." I looked at the sky in wonder, thinking if I'll ever be able to see my old friends again. Then I got yet another guilty feeling and looked back at Ken'ichi. These guys were being friends with me and I still thought ungratefully of my past...If I was to stay like this for longer than I anticipate, then I must at least make a good bond with the others around me. I smiled warmly to Ken'ichi.

"Thanks...I feel better now."
Thinking of the reason why I came back down, I jumped.

"Oh, yea. I met this huge bear along the path up the salmon run, and he told me about some kind of party...? Id that was Nikiski was talking about?" I awaited his reply.

[Ken'ichi]

"Party?"

I started to think about what he's talking about, then I remembered.

"Oh yea, it's when a HUGE swarm of salmon begins to swim downstream, that's when all the bears team up to catch as many as they can. Then they go watch the lights touch the earth after they finish telling sto-"

I stopped before I could finish the sentence. Stories...I forgot about that. Whoever catches the salmon gets to tell a story, but what if I catch it and they expect me to tell how I got my scar? I'm not even planning on being part of that game, just sit in the background and hear the other's stories.

"At least, that's what I think Nikiski meant...we should go back to the others."
